内容記述 | We examined the role of school nurses from four aspects, namely, “school health”, “children’s health issues”, “school nurses’ expertise”, and “teacher training”. We established that if children’s health issues change, the role of school nurses, whose job consists of being “in charge of school nursing”, requires a paradigm shift toward problem resolution. However, regardless how the times change, and no matter how children’s health issues change, the professional duties of school nurses inherit the “immutability” that has not changed since the beginning of school education. With that at the foundation, school nurses have tackled health issues of the respective periods in line with the “trends” and have been “in charge of school nursing”, which is the true role of “yogo”. Nowadays, in an era when various types of occupations are involved in school education, it is necessary to consider school nursing by bringing the question, “What is role of school nurses who are irreplaceable by others?”, back to the starting point of the job, while leveraging professional duties, that is, being “in charge of school nursing”, and expertise. In summarizing the subjects pertaining to school nurses, namely, changes in children’s health issues as well as in the professional duties of school nursing, and the concept of yogo, professionals are to find their own objects and apply their energy, while having confidence in practice. Furthermore, it is said that professionals are continuously deepening. Compared to other professionals, where many of the issues dealt with are based on scientific knowledge and technical certainty, the work of school nurses is a series of uncertainties. However, it can be said that learning and practice of seeing the child's body, which is a characteristic of the school nurse, raises the specialty and enhances the professionalism. |
